Is Ibiza without clubbing a good plan? Of course!

One of the most frequent mistakes made by people who haven’t visited our island is thinking that you can’t have fun in Ibiza without clubbing. So wrong! Except for two areas, the rest of the island is a haven for travellers who just want to relax and enjoy the nature and food.

For decades, the island has been known for its parties and this is why people misguidedly think that it’s only a destination for young people who want to go clubbing at the most famous nightclubs. However, the nightlife is mostly concentrated in certain areas in the city of Ibiza, Playa d’en Bossa and Sant Antoni, so the rest of the island is tucked safely away from the din. Families, couples and groups of friends in their 40s, 50s or 60s find many plans in Ibiza to have fun from morning till night, without having to step a foot in a club.

Ibiza without clubbing: What to do if you’re over 40?

We already told you how to have fun in Ibiza in your 50s, if you’re coming over with friends to celebrate a special birthday or for a getaway with your partner or family. Of course, this goes for people in their 40s or 60s too. Most of the island is safe from all the noisy nightlife, but it’s still infused with its hedonistic spirit that encourages you to fully enjoy every single moment, during an exquisite dinner under the stars or on a sun bed on the beach. Here are some of the summer plans for you to enjoy Ibiza without clubbing:

  • Relish Ibiza’s typical food in traditional restaurants like Ca’s Pagès, Ca na Ribes, Pou des Lleó or Can Caus, all of them only a few minutes’ drive from Hotel Ánfora.
  • Relax in one of the +50 coves and beaches in Ibiza. Don't miss Cala d´Hort, Aigües Blanques, Cala Benirrás, Ses Salines and Platges de Comte.
  • Go paddleboarding, kayaking, snorkelling, motor water sports, diving... If you’re staying with us, download the new guide of water sports in Santa Eulària des Riu (Guía del Mar) and find out which beach offers the activity you’d like to do.
  • Go to the famous flea markets, like the Hippy Punta Arabí Es Canar and Las Dalias Ibiza markets, both only a few minutes away from our hotel.

  • Have dinner under the stars in charming restaurants in Ibiza, such as Can Pau, La Paloma Ibiza, Amante, Casa Colonial, La’Era, The Boat House, Donde Miguel and Marian, Can Balafia… You’ll be spoilt for choice on the island!
  • Treat yourself to some fine dining in Michelin-star restaurants (La Gaia by Oscar Molina, Es Tragón and Etxeko by Martin Berasategui) or Repsol-sun restaurants (Can Domo, Ca n’Alfredo, Es ventall, Jondal, Las dos Lunas, Maymanta, Pecador Ibiza…).
  • Spend the afternoon strolling through the streets of the old part of Ibiza city that was declared World Heritage, or discover the beauty of Ibiza’s architecture by visiting Puig de Missa in Santa Eulària or the country house of Es Trull de Ca n’Andreu.
  • Boogie away the night in Pacha: Their Flower Power party is one of the most fun parties for people who really know how to burn up the dance floor. This proposal is perfect for those who are willing to be a little flexible about their holiday in Ibiza without clubbing.
  • Rent a boat to explore the coast. You can enjoy this for hours or days, whatever you wish.
  • Relax in a spa, like the luxury circuit of La Posidonia or go for a well-being treatment in our massage room.

Will I have fun in Ibiza with kids? Yes!

Our island has been a family destination for decades but many parents aren’t aware of this because of Ibiza’s clubbing reputation. In fact, the eastern coast of Ibiza, home to Hotel Ánfora, is a favourite among families as its beaches are so peaceful, safe and shallow, perfect for the little ones to splash around. Besides the coves and beaches, if you're travelling with kids in Ibiza, you’ll also find masses of activities for kids: water activities, the zip-line park, rides, visits to organic farms, play areas... And if you come over in May, you’ll also have a great time at the Medieval Market in Ibiza and the Barruguet Family Theatre Festival. There, now you know that having fun in Ibiza without clubbing is indeed possible so come and discover the Ibiza that families love.

Ibiza with your partner without clubbing: Is it a good idea?

If you’re in your 30s, you're travelling with your partner and you’re not interested in clubbing or electronic music, you’ll still have loads of fun in Ibiza. You’ll find masses of beaches, coves and remote spots on the coast, walks and bike rides, countless restaurants for all tastes and budgets, flea markets, terraces to watch the sunset from a different place each day, an endless list of water activities, bars with live music, original events (like the drums in Benirrás or the Namasté party in Las Dalias)... This summer, Ibiza is your perfect destination!
