Next July 10th, on Saint Christopher’s Day (Sant Christófol in Catalan), the holiday village of Es Canar will be pulling out its party wear as a tribute to their patron saint, as it’s been doing ever since it was no more than a small fishing village. The big day is July 10th, but there are festivities the days surrounding this date, so the festive atmosphere lasts several days.

July 10th will be the day for the traditional events, like the traditional cart parade at lunchtime, the paella competition and the traditional Ibizan folk dances (ball pagès) in the evening (9.30 p.m.) Besides these events, there are other activities, including the Ibizan crafts market, the outdoor concert at 10 p.m. and the fireworks at midnight for a grand send-off of Sant Cristófol’s Day.
