Explore Ibiza on the ferry from Es Canar

It’s always a special and exciting affair to board a ferry and explore Ibiza from the sea as these trips will show you curious rocky formations, boathouses with impossible accesses, islets and unspoilt coves that can’t be reached on foot. A good way to discover the secrets of the eastern coast in Ibiza is with a ferry tour that leaves from Es Canar beach, only a few metres away from Hotel Ánfora Ibiza. Not only will you visit other spots on the island, you will also enjoy a pleasant boat trip. And you can even visit Formentera!

 Santa Eulalia Ferry

This local company that provides ferry trips links Es Canar to Cala Llonga, Santa Eulària des Riu, Ibiza’s port and the island of Formentera during the summer. The company started running these trips more than 50 years ago, when the fishermen Juan Torres and Miguel Tur bought two small boats for sea trips from Santa Eulària des Riu. If you’d like to know the timetables of the regular ferry trips from Es Canar, check the Santa Eulalia Ferry website or ask at the ticket stand at the harbour or at the reception desk in Hotel Ánfora.

Es Canar - Cala Llonga Trip

This itinerary leaves from the small harbour of Es Canar from Monday to Sunday and fares are €10 for a one-way ticket or €17 for a return ticket. There are nine trips per day on weekdays and six per day at the weekend. Cala Llonga is another popular destination on the eastern coast of Ibiza and its beach is a deep inlet with crystal-clear and calm waters.

Es Canar - Ibiza city Trip

An excellent way to get to Ibiza city is by taking the regular ferry that runs once an hour from Monday to Sunday between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., except for Wednesdays, when it also leaves at 5 p.m. and on Saturdays and Sundays when it only leaves at 10 a.m., 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. The fare is €21 for a return ticket or €12 for a one-way ticket.

Es Canar - Santa Eulària des Riu Trip

Although the village is very close to Es Canar and there is also a regular bus line that links both villages, it’s also fun to get to Santa Eulària by boat. This trip is offered every single day of the week from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. (leaving on the hour) and is €13 for a return ticket and €7 for a one-way ticket.

Es Canar - Formentera Trip

In our previous post, Spend a day at Formentera, we already recommended this trip to visit the heavenly beaches of our neighbour island. If you’ve decided to include this plan in your holidays in Ibiza, you can take the boat from Es Canar at 9 a.m. or at 10 a.m. The fare for a return ticket to Formentera by boat is €34 for adults and €18 for children.
