Paul Oakenfold, 30 years behind the turntables
Just back from the World Cup in Russia, where the British DJ played at the FIFA Fan Fest, Paul Oakenfold told us that he will continue his world tour Generations, this summer in honour of the 30 years since the Second Summer of Love from 1988, an electronic version of the well-known Summer of Love that had taken place in San Francisco two decades earlier. For the tour and for all his other events, Paul Oakenfold likes to prepare before each event by rehearsing the session with his gear. And that’s exactly what he did this time in one of our Suites, as he believes that it’s as important as warming up for a marathon. The mixes played by Oakenfold, one of the best-known DJs in the world, has not only won over millions of electronic-music fans, but also the praise of experts. In fact, his trance and progressive mixes earned him the Number 1 DJ in the World title by DJ Magazine.

Oakenfold and Ibiza
Paul Oakenfold came to Ibiza for the first time in 1984 and this is when his love affair with electronic music began. It started at the KU nightclub and then took him to Amnesia, Pacha, Space and Privilege. Besides the music scene, Oakenfold especially enjoys the island’s food which he eats at restaurants like Balàfia, that specialises in grilled meat, and Sa Capella, a romantic restaurant on the outskirts of San Antonio. He also likes to visit the hills of San Antonio and the famous Café del Mar and Café Mambo when he comes to Ibiza.

Paul’s tequila
