5 outdoor plans in the sea
The best proposals to make the most of the beaches and the beautiful eastern coast of Ibiza.
Kayaking to Pou des Lleó
One of the most beautiful kayaking routes in Ibiza is only a 15-minute drive from Hotel Ánfora: from Es Figueral beach to Pou des Lleó. You can either do the entire route or do a shorter one to Caló Roig, a small cove that can’t be accessed on foot and is perfect for a rest and a swim. It’s easy to do this kayak route as you’ll find rental services and guided tours organised by the company Kayak Ibiza on Es Figueral beach.
Spend a fantastic day in Santa Eulària des Riu
If you love water sports and sailing, you can hire a one-day boat trip along the coast from the marina of Santa Eulària des Riu, rent a boat that that doesn’t need a skipper licence, go water skiing, take a underwater diving course... And if you simply want to lie down on a sun lounger, a few metres away from the marina, you’ll find the beach of Santa Eulària des Riu, the first to be declared a smokeless beach in the archipelago. And don’t forget that the town also has a large offer of restaurants and shops as well as wonderful cultural heritage visits, such as Puig de Missa. And all these outdoor plans in Ibiza are only a 5-minute drive from your hotel in Es Canar.
Under the sea
The warm sea temperature in Ibiza makes it the ideal destination for fans of underwater diving. You can explore the precious posidonia oceánica meadows and spot groupers, moray eels, conger eels, rays, octopuses, cuttlefish, barracudas, lobsters... Depending on your diving skills, you can do the lighthouse dive (Inmersión del faro) that is a 5 minutes by boat from Es Canar or the dives by the island of Tagomago. If you haven’t yet tried out underwater diving, Ibiza is an excellent place to start. Ask us if you’d like more info on where to learn to dive in Ibiza.
Discover a new beach every day
One of the greatest appeals of staying at our modern 4-star hotel in Es Canar is the beautiful beaches nearby. You can go to a different one each day! Besides the beach of Es Canar and the neighbouring coves of Cala Martina and Cala Nova, we’re only a 15-minute drive from Cala Boix, Cala Llenya, the secluded Cala Mastella, Es Figueral beach, Aigües Blanques, Cala Pada…
Practice stand-up paddle and windsurf at Cala Pada
This pleasant family-friendly beach is ideal to try out a stand-up paddle as the seabed has a very gentle slope and the waters are calm. But if it’s a windy day, then you can learn to windsurf at the school on this same beach. And if you would rather to go snorkelling, you can join the tours organised along the coast.
5 outdoor plans in Ibiza inland
Time flies by on a beach in Ibiza, but the island will also surprise you if you like outdoor activities in the countryside and hills.
Walking alone or on a guided walk
The end of the summer makes you want to put your comfortable shoes on and go for walks. Near Hotel Ánfora you will find several walks with different levels of difficulty, some are ideal for beginners and others are only recommended for fit hikers. You can either walk alone or join the free guided walks organised by the town council of Santa Eulària des Riu every year. Check out the next walks by phoning +34677561176 or, alternatively, enquire at our front desk about the walks planned during your holiday.
Take part in a hierbas ibicencas workshop
Hierbas ibicencas is Ibiza’s typical liquor that used to be made at home with spirits and Mediterranean herbs that grow on the island. If you’d like to know more about this aromatic drink, sign up for the guided tours and workshops organised by the Fluxà Ibiza distillery.
Go to Las Dalias street market
This classic visit is a must-see whether you’re travelling alone or with your partner, friends or family. Visit its website to see the dates of events and street markets planned apart from their usual slot on Saturdays and add it to your outdoor plans in Ibiza.
Explore Ibiza on bike
If you like exploring your holiday destinations on bike, Hotel Ánfora is surrounded by several mountain bike routes along the eastern side of the island or you can link them to others that go inland or northwards. Ibiza has a rugged orography with many hills so we suggest you get more information about the mountain bike routes on the tourism websites of Santa Eulària des Riu, Sant Joan, Sant Antoni de Portmany and Sant Josep de sa Talaia.
Stroll through Dalt Vila
Even if you’ve done this before, it’s something you just have to do every single time you visit the White Island. A stroll through the historic town centre of the city of Ibiza will reveal a new detail, spot, square or impressive door that had gone unnoticed on your previous strolls. You can follow a stop-by-stop route through Dalt Vila or start from the Portal de ses Taules and wander towards the Cathedral and then back to the harbour.
