Coves in Ibiza that can only be accessed by boat
Ibiza has over 50 beaches and coves that can be easily accessed by car and then there are a few more reserved to those who don’t mind walking for a while to get there. But the island also reserves for sailors (and kayak fans) beautiful spots on the coast and unspoilt coves that can’t be accessed by foot and are perfect to drop anchor and enjoy a wonderful swim and relax. If you’re going to rent a boat, set a course for these coves. If you have a skipper, ask them about these remote spots.
But wherever you go, you must always remember this legal norm: never anchor on posidonia oceanica (seagrass). If you have any doubts about this, visit the Atlas Posidonia website and check the places that are forbidden for free anchoring, this is essential to make sure that you don’t anchor anywhere that could harm this priceless natural heritage.

Cala Jonc
On the northeast end of Ibiza, near Punta Grossa, this cove can only be accessed by sea. If there’s no east wind, you will enjoy an amazing swim in crystal-clear waters and peace and quiet.
Cala d’Albarca
This inlet offers spectacular cliffs and peace. It has very few stretches of sand to anchor, so it’s best to go early in the morning. Avoid it with north wind.
Conillera Island
This island that sits across from Sant Antoni bay has a vast bay. Here you can anchor up to 3 metres from the shore and swim over a bed of sand and plants.
Ses Balandres
A spectacular setting at the foot of the Es Munts cliffs and opposite the Margarides islands. Near Cala d’Albarca, here you’ll find peace and quiet even if it’s in the middle of August.
Cala Rotja
This inlet near Cap Martinet is one of the coast enclaves between this cape and s’Estanyol cove. Drop anchor here if you’re heading south from Santa Eulalia.

Other coves in Ibiza that are perfect to wind down
Besides the most popular beaches in Ibiza, that are regularly visited by sailing boats and motorboats in the summer, there are other quieter spots to enjoy a day on the water. Some examples are:
Caló des Moltons: at the entrance to Port de Sant Miquel. A peaceful corner to stop for lunch and a siesta.
Caló des Porcs / Es Canaret: stunning, unspoilt beach on the northwest coast with barely any people.
Tagomago Island: this is a perfect trip if you’re leaving from the marina of Santa Eulària des Riu. There are three anchorages.
Cala Llentrisca: this unspoilt cove is picturesque given the contrasting colours of the sea bed and the fishing huts.
Port de Ses Caletes: another spot in the north where you can stop if you’re sailing from Santa Eulalia.
Sa Caleta: picturesque natural port with fishing huts next to Es Bol Bou beach.
