5 remote beaches for a picnic in Ibiza
Near Hotel Ánfora, you will find fantastic beaches for a day at the seaside, such as Es Canar, Cala Nova, Cala Martina and Cala Llenya. But if you’re looking for a hidden quiet cove with no services to spend the day, read our suggestions below. And for the picnic, you can order one at our front desk giving us enough time to prepare it and it will be ready for you when you leave the hotel.
Cala Llentrisca
This remote cove on the southeast coast near Es Cubells is ideal to get away from the crowds if you don’t mind doing without sand and a sunshade, as you’ll have to stretch your towel on the stone floor. In exchange, you’ll get crystal-clear waters that are great for diving, and lots of peace and quiet. You get to this cove by a path that starts from the residential area next to it and this is reached from Es Cubells.
Es Canaret
On the northeast side, on Punta de Llevant, this small cove used to be a secret from even the locals until only recently. The secret may be out, but it’s still a quaint spot with boathouses where you can relax and enjoy a picnic after a walk around the area.
Es Portitxol
It’s not such a secret anymore, but the 30-minute walk down to this cove keeps the crowds away from this natural fishing port, where it’s best to take a picnic and drinks. The path starts from the Isla Blanca residential area, in the vicinity of Sant Miquel.
Cala Galera
This cove near Punta Galera is another great spot to spend a quiet day with a book in hand and a picnic made by Hotel Ánfora. To get to this cove, go to the end of Calle Sa Talaia, park the car and then walk along the coast. You can add this stop to a drive along the western side of Ibiza, with stops in Santa Agnès, Sant Mateu and Sant Antoni and its sunset.
Racó de ses Dones
To reach this small remote cove, you need to go to Es Figueral beach and then head left to the monolith-like rock. Very near this rock, you’ll find an opening that connects both shores. Don’t go on days with an east wind.
Coves with a beach bar on the east of Ibiza
For those days when you’d rather eat comfortably at a table on the beachfront, only a few minutes’ drive away from Hotel Ánfora you’ll find Cala Nova, Cala Martina, Cala Boix, Es Canar, Cala Mastella, Cala Llenya, Santa Eulària des Riu and Cala Llonga, among others. Here you can also rent sun loungers and a sunshade or hire water sports.
