The best resolutions for next summer
1. Go to at least one yoga session
If you want to add yoga to your 2023 achievements, don’t stop during your holidays in Ibiza! You’ll find a wide range of professional instructors who offer group or one-to-one sessions, so ask at our front desk if you want us to help you hire this service. And if you’re lucky, your holidays at Hotel Ánfora may coincide with our free yoga lessons that we usually give twice a week. As you see, this resolution will be easy to keep, whether you don’t want to lose your stride or if you’ve decided to start learning yoga during your holidays in Ibiza.
2. Go for a walk on the beach first thing in the morning
Many say walking barefoot on the sand is one of the great summer pleasures. Unless you’re not allowed to do it for health issues, a 20-minute walk on the beach is healthy and relaxing, especially if you do it early in the morning. To do so, walk where the sand is most compact and avoid uneven ground if there is any, although the island’s beaches are usually pretty flat. Near Hotel Ánfora, you can go for a pleasant walk along long beaches like Es Canar, Es Figueral and Cala Sant Vicent.
3. Relish vegetarian food
You don’t have to give up meat to get used to including vegetarian dishes in your diet. Summer can be a good time to try out this healthy and imaginative cuisine! There are more and more restaurants in Ibiza that offer vegetarian and vegan dishes on their menu and some have even specialised in this type of diet, such as Wild Beets, Aubergine, Amor Crudo and Simbiosis.
4. Learn to give objects a second life
During the holidays, one wants to rest, not be productive. But if you have fun while you’re resting, learn to recycle and give objects a new use, then all the better. Especially if you don’t have to even leave the hotel to fulfil this resolution, as our hotel organises free creative recycling workshops during the summer. If your stay with us coincides with this activity, sign up for it!
5. Get off the sun lounger to learn a new sport
In the winter, most of us tend to sit for too long, so one of the resolutions for the holidays is getting up from the sun lounger and doing sport in the sea. There are loads of options in Ibiza! Paddle surf, kayak, dinghy sailing, snorkelling... And don’t forget all the other water activities available to have fun and get an adrenaline rush. Check all the water activities on the comprehensive guide published by the Town Council of Santa Eulária des Riu (Guía de Actividades del Mar).
6. Add juices to your summer holidays
Cocktails are one of the most refreshing joys in the summer, we know, but don’t forget that alcohol dehydrates. So add juices to your holidays too! At Hotel Ánfora you’ll find a long list of cocktails and tasty freshly made juices. And for when you’re driving around Ibiza, remember these establishments that are famous for their juices: Rita’s Cantina, in Sant Antoni; Passion Café, in Santa Eulària; Es Tap Nou, in Ibiza; and Musset Café, in Santa Gertrudis.
7. Go for a walk at dawn
It’s not the same seeing the sunrise while you’re going to work than watching it from the beach, don’t you think? As our hotel is on the eastern coast of Ibiza, you only have to take a few steps to watch the sunrise from Es Canar beach whenever you want. Add this to a bike ride along the Route of the eastern beaches and you’ll spend a fun morning doing healthy exercise. If you’d rather walk, you can also take the path from Es Canar to Cala LLenya, northwards, or up to Santa Eulària des Riu, southwards.
8. Pay less attention to your mobile phone and more to people
This resolution also applies all year round but it’s even nicer during the holidays, because there’s nothing better than watching and chatting to people to feel part of the local atmosphere. And to do so, the best places are the typical bars and beach bars: Bar Anita, in Sant Carles; Bar Costa, in Santa Gertrudis; Cala Martina, in the cove by the same name; Chiringuito Sa Punta, in Jesús; Vista Alegre, in Sant Joan…
9. Learn about posidonia oceanica
The crystal clear waters of Ibiza’s coves and beaches and their gently sloping seabed are mostly owed to the presence of posidonia oceanica (seagrass), a sea plant with a high environmental value that oxygenates the water and gives food and shelter to different sea species. It forms large meadows and the biggest is found to the south of the island, between Ibiza and Formentera, declared World Heritage by UNESCO given its great value. It is 8 kilometres long and over 100,000 years old. See it first-hand by joining a diving group or snorkelling at Pou des Lleó, Cala Martina, Cala Olivera, S’Estanyol and Calla Mastella, among other coves on the eastern coast of Ibiza.
10. Make your holidays more sustainable
Our hotel keeps its commitment to sustainability, which we apply by expanding the use of renewable sources and reducing the use of plastic. We also have two stations to recharge electric cars, so you can also hire a zero-emission car if you’d like to. On the other hand, our hotel’s excellent location, near several coves, walks and bike tracks, makes it a fantastic choice for a sustainable holiday in Ibiza if you like to go for walks or bike rides.
