A beach bar with a great vibe? A place for snorkelling? The island has a different shore for each type of traveller. All you have to do is find the one that best fits you.
The island has more than 50 beaches rated as fit for bathing plus many spots where you can go in for a dip practically alone. Across its 572 km², Ibiza has a wide variety of coastal landscapes that range from large kid-friendly sandy beaches to small coves surrounded by nature.

Guide to choose your ideal beach in Ibiza
Here is a selection of beaches and coves in Ibiza depending on the plan you’re looking for. Some are near Hotel Anfora while others are the perfect excuse to get out and explore the island.
If you’re travelling with your family and just want things to be easy: Cala Llonga
When you’re travelling with kids, you need more than a beautiful beach: you want calm waters, services nearby and options to keep them entertained for when the usual “I’m bored” tune kicks off. Cala Llonga has fine sand, shallow waters, a play area, restaurants and other services, as well as options to go kayaking or paddleboarding.
Other kid-friendly beaches in Ibiza: Cala Pada, Cala Tarida, Portinatx, Cala Llenya and Es Canar.
If you want to wind down: Cala Boix
If you’re looking for a quiet, different beach, this shore on the eastern coast could be a great choice. Its fine, dark sand in sharp contrast to its crystal-clear waters makes this beach remarkable. It has a small beach bar and several restaurants nearby.
Remember: to get down to the beach you need to walk down some steep steps, so it’s not the best option if you have any mobility issues.
Other quiet beaches: Cala Mastella, Cala Carbó and Caló d’en Serra.
If you like people-watching and being seen: Cala Jondal
Some people view beaches like the stage to keep the usual winter social codes going. If VIPs are your thing and you don’t want to go without, Cala Jondal has several beach restaurants and beach clubs, some of them with Balinese beds, party vibes and the hedonistic touch you’re looking for for your summer holidays. This beach is known for its shingle shore and crystal-clear waters that are perfect for a swim.
Other beaches to shine like a superstar: Ses Salines beach and Cala Bassa.
If you’ve packed your snorkelling mask: Es Portitxol
Some go back home from Ibiza with hundreds of beach photos while others return with hundreds of memories of what they’ve seen undersea. If you’re part of the second group, go to Es Portitxol, on the northern coast of the island. You’ll need to walk about half an hour to get to this small natural harbour, but you’ll be rewarded by the sight of an extraordinary unspoilt spot with crystal-clear waters and a seabed that’s like a showcase of undersea wildlife.
Remember: there are no services here and it’s all uphill on your way back, so make sure to take enough water for the hike back up.
Other unspoilt beaches for snorkelling: S’Estanyol, Cala Olivera and Pou des Lleó.
If you’re looking for postcard-worthy beaches: Cala d´Hort
This beach, sheltered by cliffs, offers crystal-clear waters and a privileged view of Es Vedrá and Es Vedranell. It’s very popular among visitors and locals, so you don’t get much privacy on this beach but you do get to enjoy one of the most breathtaking coastal sceneries in Ibiza.
Remember: on the beach you'll find two restaurants that specialise in rice dishes and fish, plus another establishment atop the cliff.
Other remarkably stunning beaches: Platges de Comte, Cala Benirrás and Cala Salada.
If you like to eat well on your beach day: Cala Nova
If you’re the sort of traveller who chooses a beach depending on the nearest restaurant or beach bar, this beach on the eastern coast of Ibiza won’t disappoint, as it has a wide range of places to eat, from the good old typical beach bar to international higher-end options.
Other beaches to combine food and bathing: Cala Martina, Cala Sant Vicent, Es Canar, Cala Carbó and Cala Vedella.
If you’re looking for beach plus sunset: Platges de Comte
This is a set of small coves with turquoise waters, fine sand and views of the Es Ponent and Es Bosc islets. Facing the north-west wide-open horizon, this place is one of the classic spots to end the day in Ibiza all year round. But remember: it’s one of the most famous beaches on the island, so go well ahead if you’re planning to watch the sunset from here.
Other beaches in Ibiza to admire the sunset: Cala Gració, Punta Galera and Caló des Moro.
If your ideal beach needs to be near Es Canar: Cala Llenya
Not all travellers want to spend their holidays driving to and fro. And that’s why staying in Es Canar is perfect: its coast has enough variety to spend several days exploring without having to constantly cross the entire island. It’s worth mentioning this pretty beach surrounded by pine trees and its crystal-clear waters. It’s known for its kid-friendly character and loads of space to stretch your towel.
Other beaches near Es Canar: Cala Martina, Cala Pada, Cala Nova and Es Figueral.
